Program News
The Waterville Valley Community Power Aggregation program is launching in June with savings for customers. A public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at 5pm at Town Hall, 14 Tac Lane, Waterville Valley, NH, with a presentation by ECM Power and a public Q&A session.
On behalf of the Town of Waterville Valley, program supplier Direct Energy Services is sending first-class letters to all customers explaining the program and their options for participating. There are two versions of the letter depending on whether the customer is eligible for automatic enrollment in the program or not. Letters are mailed to the customer mailing address, which may be different from the delivery address. Depending on USPS mail delivery service, letters should start arriving the week of April 20th. Copies of the letters will be available soon on this web page at right.
The Waterville Community Power program provides a new Waterville Valley Default supply rate and optional rates for electricity customers in Waterville Valley. Services from NH Electric Coop are not affected. NHEC will continue to deliver electricity, respond to emergencies, and bill customers, as usual. The supplier portion of your electric bill will change to reflect participation in the program. The program is open to all customers in Waterville Valley, there are no customer costs or individual contracts to participate, and no cost to the Town for providing the program.
Customers currently on NHEC default supply are eligible for automatic enrollment in the program. Customers currently on competitive supply are not eligible for automatic enrollment but are welcome to join the program. These customers should check for etfs with their current supplier before enrolling. Solar net metering customers and GNM hosts identified by NHEC are also not eligible and should not join the program before reviewing the Net Metering FAQ provided.
Customers eligible for automatic enrollment in the program do not need to take any action to be enrolled in the Waterville Valley Default rate on their meter read date in June. Eligible customers that want a different program rate or want to opt out of the program must take action to do so.
Links for opting out, joining/enrolling or changing products are above. All changes to customer accounts are made on the next available meter read date. Changes to your account may take 2-3 months to be reflected in your electricity bill.
More detailed information is coming in your customer letter but also feel free to use the ‘Contact Us’ link at right to contact the program with your questions about your electric bill, net metering, competitive supply and the program.
